I have all of these ideas of businesses I'd like to start, but I am overwhelmed by the process. I am afraid since I don't have a nest egg and worried about taking out a big loan if my business goes bust. Should I not worry about that now?

Where's the best place to start? Business Planning? Or should I start with the financial plan?

Always start with the business planning as this will let you uncover hidden costs that you didn't originally plan for. A huge part of business planning is having a solid financial plan. However any financial plan you do create will be at best an educated guess as their are always costs that you didn't expect.

Their are basically 7 parts in every business plan that must flow together. In no particular order they are Marketing, Management, Finances, Lead Generation, Lead Conversion, Client Fulfillment, and Leadership. Each are equally important and even if one part is lacking then the business has a good chance of failure.

Starting with the objective and USP of the business is usually a good starting point and then have everything else refer back to those two items. I find that having a vision of how I want the business to look and act in 10 years and then putting that vision down on paper in these seven categories really helps get an overall feel of what it will take to get there.

Hopes this helps!
